Lake Oswego Women's Club Scholarship Award
for Outstanding Community Service

Accepting scholarship applications now through April 21 with interviews April 26.

To recognize and encourage the spirit of community service, the Lake Oswego Women’s Club (LOWC) sponsors several Scholarship Awards for Outstanding Community Service. Each award includes a one-time monetary payment of a minimum of $1,000 made directly to the recipient’s college or university.

To be eligible for consideration, applicants must:
  • Demonstrate an ongoing commitment to community service.
  • Demonstrate financial need.
  • Reside in or attend high school in Lake Oswego or West Linn.
  • Graduate from high school in the spring of 2017 with a minimum GPA of 3.25.
  • Enroll as a full-time (or credit equivalent) student at a four-year college or university in the United States in the fall of 2017.
  • Submit an application and supporting documents.
  • Participate in a 15-minute interview the evening of April 26th, 2017. Please bring a signed copy of the Release Form to the interview.

To apply:
1. Review all of the scholarship information available at www.lowomensclub.org - including the documents available for download.

2. Click the link below to download the application. The application is available as a fillable form in a Word Document or printable PDF.
  • If you complete the application in MS Word, fill in the applicable fields, then “Save As” a new file and attach the file to an email. Send your application and supporting documents to scholarships@lowomensclub.org.
  • If you complete the form using a printed PDF, you may scan and email your application (scholarships@lowomensclub.org) or mail a hard copy of the printed form and supporting documents to Scholarship Committee C/O LOWC, P.O. Box 1434, Lake Oswego, OR 97035.
3. In addition to a completed application form, applicants must submit a copy via email attachment or mail hard copies of:
  • A copy of their high school transcript; and
  • A letter of recommendation by an adult (other than a parent or guardian) with personal knowledge of the applicant’s community service.
4. All applications and supporting materials must be submitted directly to LOWC at scholarships@lowomensclub.org or mailed to P.O. Box 1434 Lake Oswego, OR 97035.

Recipients will be announced at their school’s honor assembly in June.

The 2017 scholarship application is available in two formats:
  1. A Microsoft Word form. You will need Microsoft Word to complete the application as a fill-able form. Complete the application in Word. Choose File > Save As and save the file with a new name. Please include your last name in the saved file.
  2. A PDF document. You can print this form and complete the form by hand. Scan the form and email it to LOWC or mail the hard copy and supporting documents to our PO Box.
